At Peoples Church you can come as you are. Ours is a worshipful space for the peaceful exchange of ideas; concentrating on our commonalities, while appreciating our differences. Located in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood, one of the most diverse communities in the US, we are a gathering place for open-minded, liberal Christians, Humanists and all others.

At Peoples Church we embrace diversity and freedom of thought around our global village… and down the block.
The Peoples Church is deeply rooted in our neighborhood. Church members and volunteers participate in community service: everything from leading and participating in Bible Study Groups, to using their skills at a shelter, to advocacy for affordable housing issues, to marching in Chicago’s Annual Pride Parade.
The Peoples Church believes in working with others to build a better world, while fostering our spiritual and personal growth and practicing the golden rule.

Peoples Church is affiliated with both the Unitarian Universalist Association and the United Church of Christ denominations. Both are non-creedal: we don’t ask you to change your beliefs to belong, nor do we ask you to subscribe to particular religious beliefs.
Though the language of our worship is primarily Christian, our doors are open to all who seek to know the Divine and work toward Social Justice.
We do ask you to treat each person with respect and consideration, and assist us in sowing seeds of love and compassion. We invite you to explore and to grow spiritually in conversation with others.
